The wintry scene on the cover of ANYTHING FOR HER CHILDREN is only partially indicative of what's inside the book. There's love, of course. But my May 2008 release from Harlequin Superromance also includes a scandal, the aftermath of a tragedy and an adoptive mother fiercely protective of two teenage children not much younger than she is.

The book's a personal favorite because it's set in a world I know well. The hero's a high school basketball coach. With two basketball players in the family, I've spent my fair share of time in gyms. But the book's not really about sports. Here's a tease:

Keri Cassidy is incensed when the high school's new basketball coach suspends her adopted teenage son, jeopardizing his chances at an athletic scholarship. Coach Grady Quinlan contends the boy's getting preferential treatment at school, a charge the boy denies. After Keri discovers Grady's scandalous past, it appears he's being unreasonably harsh on her son in an effort to rebuild his damaged reputation. So how can Keri trust Grady even when her heart tells her she should?

Great news! I've been contracted to write three more books for Superromance. The loosely connected trilogy, scheduled to come out in 2009, is set in the fictional Pennsylvania mountain town of Indigo Springs. The first book is about a woman who sees a man perform a heroic deed before she finds out some of the residents of her new hometown think of him as anything but a hero.
