Who can resist the sheer beauty of a waterfall? Certainly not me. I regularly round up family members for hikes of various lengths to take in the magnificent view of water cascading over rocks. My favorite hike? A 3.5-mile loop at Ricketts Glen Park in northeastern Pennsylvania that showcases eighteen of the park’s 21 waterfalls. Just gorgeous!
So you can see why I’m thrilled that the cover of my October 2010 release from Harlequin Superromance features a waterfall. The book takes place in Pennsylvania’s scenic Pocono Mountains, but the heroine of the story has a harder time resisting veterinarian Dan Maguire than waterfalls. Jill Jacobi is on the run with her younger brother and can’t afford to trust any man, especially since she has to be poised to leave town at a moment’s notice.
THAT RUNAWAY SUMMER is the fifth and final book in my Indigo Springs series. If you haven’t been to the picturesque town yet, it’s a happening place! The books in the series are only loosely connected so no prior knowledge is needed to come for a visit. And who knows, you might see a waterfall!
A Change of Scenery
I’ll soon be leaving Pennsylvania and heading for the tidal creeks and the marshes of lowcountry South Carolina. After that, I’ll meander on up to suburban Washington D.C., where the snow is piling up faster than the plows can take it away.
If that isn’t enough of a clue, South Carolina and suburban D.C. are the settings for my next two books from Superromance. The working titles are THE SECRET MOTHER and THE CHRISTMAS GIFT. The first is about an ex-con desperate to stay out of the lives of her twins. In the second, record snowfall keeps a woman from leaving the hometown and the man she fled years before.
Yet another perk of being a writer. I really get around.
