BORN FOR EACH OTHER

Avalon
February 2002

No matter how insistent her mother is that she and Michael Reeves fell in love while in diapers, Annie isn’t buying it.

How could a park naturalist who counts camping and kayaking as hobbies ever marry a man who looks as though he stepped straight out of the pages of Gentlemen's Quarterly?

Annie would never leave rural Pennsylvania. And Michael, who’s determined to succeed in the computer business, is firmly rooted in Los Angeles.

Annie’s mistake is in cheerfully telling Michael, who’s in town to visit his mother, the many reasons he doesn’t attract her.

Then Michael, who’s unfathomably attracted to Annie, will go along with anything their matchmaking mothers devise to change her mind.

.

Where do I get my ideas?

Here’s one answer. This 1990 photo of
my nephew Clay and my niece Reva,
who were born just nine days apart,
inspired me to write BORN FOR EACH
OTHER. Their hands are touching and
their eyes are locked--just like the
infant Annie and the infant Michael in
the prologue of my book.
